Taken with a phone camera, this slightly grainy shot features a
full moon over my house up on what I call “Fossil Hill”. That hill, in
prehistory, was the bank of a significant river and we’ve found hundreds of
fossils — both aquatic type and some unknown form of (land-grown) fruit.
A westerly autumn view from the bottom (currently dry) bed of
“Disappearing Creek” which was – in prehistory – a raging river.
The five acres of woods
directly behind our house , the widest of the logging
roads … during winter.
Jeff, I want to live where you live! Beautiful! thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Lucie. It's such an improvement from where we lived for 26 yrs with neighbors eight feet to either side.
DeleteThanks for including me in this feature series, Iris. It's been fun looking at the towns of my colleagues.
ReplyDeletethank you, Jeff, for sharing the photos.
DeleteI love this feature. My list of "places to go" is getting longer and longer :-)
Lovely. Reminds me of my cousins home in Langston, Alabama. Only he has a lake also. Thanks for the pics.
ReplyDeletewish we had a little pond. There used to be one over at my father-in-law's place (which he sold before he died), but it dried up.
DeleteSo...Possum Trot is the name of your home? Nice pictures, Jeff.
ReplyDeleteActually Possum Trot is the name of the community around our home. But I didn't have any photos of any other feature of PT.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful place to live!
